I have taken the liberty of writing you directly, without any formal introduction, and I hope you do not mind .....

I am a very keen environmentalist and wild life enthusiast with a particular focus on Sri Lankan wild elephants. I have undertaken extensive Field study over the past 15 years, and done a formal research programme under the auspicies of the  US fish & Wild Life Services ( USA  ) also.  (Us Fish & Wild life services summary report 1999-2001)

I have published a book on Sri Lankan elephants entitled "Tranquil Footsteps" . ( http://sundaytimes.lk/080203/TV/tv-times00001.html)

I am a regular speaker on Sri Lanka tourism ( which is my main profession) as well as on Sri Lankan wild life and elephants in particular. (Srilal Miththapala)

I am a PR holder in Australia , and my family resides in Melbourne. I travel regularly to Melbourne and the purpose of this mail is to see whether there will be any interest in me giving a talk to your members  and  /or other interested audience.

 I will be in Melbourne from the 4th of August to the 31st.

The last time I was in Melbourne I gave a talk at the Werrabee Zoo to the curators and some interested members of the public also joined in.
