Seeking to contact: Mrs Hemani Abayesekera

Seeking to contact Dr Dayal Abayesekera’s young widowHemani, from 1994-5 time ?  I know she completed her studies (MA or PhD? in Qld) and returned home.  Her dad used to be a well-known writer of hist articles to the papers (may be books and mags too) on history, archeol… etc called C M Austin de Silva.

I used to see his writings in the Sinhala Sunday papers which for some years my parents used to send me to Melb so I could cull material for my Sinhala broadcast under Vernon

Search as I might via the Net, and from people etc,  I can’t see her name anywhere.  Hearsay had it that she was teaching at Peradeniya Uni.  I have mentioned her to some Peradeni Dons – all to no avail.

Kindly email either eLanka ( ) or Victor Melder ( ) if anyone has any information.

I am writing to you in response to a request by Brian to contact you regarding the whereabouts of Maxwell Bulner so that I can get contact with him.

Maxwell was at St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa as a College Boarder and I was also a boarder at that time…. period 1951 to about 1953… may be we were in the same class.

I remember Maxwell telling me that his father worked for Ceylon Government Railway and was a Foreman Platelayer.  He had two sisters if I remember correctly.

Seeking to contact: Sonna Cassim (Wimalaratne)

I am trying to trace the above-mentioned subject, who studied at Greenland College and played rugby for Greenlands College in the mid-sixties. Greenlands became Isipathana M V thereafter and is now a household name in rugby.
He was better known as Sonna Cassim, but his surname was Wimalaratne. He lived off Dickmans Road in Sri Lanka. Leaving School he joined the airlines as a flight steward. I believe he is somewhere abroad. No clue of his whereabouts.
Shall appreciate if we able to track this gent down. Stay well.

Please email Hafi if you have any information re: Sonna via email: )
