Orient Finance PLC Welcomes Daniel Alphonsus as Independent Non-Executive Director 09th July 2024 – Colombo: Orient Finance PLC, a member of the Janashakthi Group, announces the appointment of Daniel Alphonsus as an Independent Non-Executive Director to the Company’s Board of Directors, effective from 5th of July 2024. Daniel spearheads Daraz’s payments, financial services, and digital goods divisions across South Asia. In addition, he serves on multiple economic reform committees for the Sri Lankan government. His previous roles include serving as an economic adviser to Sri Lanka’s finance ministry and holding positions at the foreign ministry and Verité Research. Daniel holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Balliol College, Oxford, and a degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he was a Fulbright Scholar. Orient Finance PLC Appoints Manohari Abeyesekera to Board of Directors 02nd April 2024 – Colombo: Orient Finance, a member of the Janashakthi Group, announces the appointment of Manohari Abeyesekera as an Independent Non-Executive Director to the Company’s Board of Directors, effective from 26th March 2024. Manohari is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant with over 20 years of post-qualification experience in leadership C-suite executive positions in both the private and state sectors in Sri Lanka. She currently serves as a Global Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA UK), a Council Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID), and a Board Member of the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board (SLASSMB), which serves as a regulator.
