Data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) showed that for the period from March 01 to 31 a total of 125,495 international visitors have entered the country. The number of tourists who arrived in Sri Lanka during the same period last year was 106,500.   Accordingly, a total of 335,679 tourists have arrived in the country within the first three months of this year. Kala Pola shines with local artistic talents – By JONATHAN FRANK Source : sundayobserver Despite the sporadic rains, this year’s Kala Pola enjoyed a massive turnout including many international visitors. The annual open-air art fair celebrated its 30th year last Sunday (19). The event was first conceptualised by the George Keyt Foundation in 1993, and has since been held with the continued support and patronage of the John Keells Group since 1994. Kala Pola 2023 showcased over 300 local artists from all over the country and featured dance and music performances in the main event.
