Sri Lanka take another comprehensive hammering from second string New Zealand in one dayers. Series loss highlights batting issues that need urgent address. – BY TREVINE RODRIGO  A win in the lost T20 series to start the year made little difference to Sri Lanka’s ongoing batting woes as they crashed to another embarrassing series defeat to New Zealand’s second string in Dunedin.  While Sri Lanka has no answer to New Zealand’s emerging talent, the worrying inconsistency of Sri Lanka’s batting remains unresolved with no foreseeable remedy. Rex Clementine Reviews SAF Test Tour-by Rex Clementine Source:Thuppahis Sri Lankan cricket has experienced a year of dramatic highs and sobering lows. At the forefront of this rollercoaster ride is Sanath Jayasuriya, who has reinvigorated the team with his bold decisions and unwavering support for emerging players. However, the South African tour exposed significant gaps in Sri Lanka’s armour, leading to a 2-0 defeat. “It’s been a good turnaround overall, but this series was disappointing,” Jayasuriya admitted candidly. “We had moments of promise but couldn’t sustain pressure. Back home, ...
