GARY ELLIS – THE AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY MUSIC SINGER OF FAME – MEMORIES ARE MADE OF THIS – by Charles Schokman With reference to my remark in the last SUNDAY CHOICE —“ beautifully sung by our own Gary Ellis” I had a phone call inquiring who is Gary Ellis. I guess there may be others wanting to know too. Well, Gary is an Australian Country Music singer of fame, affectionately known as the “Man in the Hat”. He is married to Preeanie, a Sri Lankan and is more Sri Lankan than an Aussie. He has a heart for Sri Lanka and is much loved by all Sri Lankans in Australia, Sri Lanka and abroad. I have the privilege of having Gary as a friend .
