Lumbini’s Golden Breakfast Tea wins global Gold Source:FT The ‘Golden Breakfast Tea’ produced by Lumbini Tea Valley Ceylon received the Gold Award in the breakfast tea category at the Leafies Awards 2022 (International Tea Academy Awards) held in London, UK on 26 Wednesday. ‘Sinharaja Wiry Tips’ a tea which has won many awards for Lumbini Tea Valley in the past received the Highly Commended Award. ‘The Leafies’ is an annual event conducted by the UK Tea Academy in partnership with Fortnum and Mason UK at which over 40 awards are presented for loose leaf teas in different categories. Each tea was evaluated according to a point system which ensures that judging criteria stay comparable and consistent each year.
