He became  a  multifaceted individual, possessing a sturdy backbone was an acclaimed Sri Lankan ,Sinhalese lyrics composer, vocalist, playwright , musician and an artist cum painter. He was educated at primary classes at the Wewala school, has had his secondary education at the CMS Sri Jayawardenapura College now renamed as Christian College.
