Nethmi Kaushalya Nawanjani an outstanding volleyball player-by Dilwin Mendis Vijayaba Vidyalaya Hungama were the runners up of Janadhipathi Gold Cup Challenge Trophy Volleyball tournament organized by Dialog in 2019. Initially she was admitted to Senarath Paranawithana National School Hungama in 2006 and from there she shifted to Vijayaba Vidyalaya Hungama in 2011. During this period she did not take part in any game whilst at school. In 2013 her parents Priyantha Nandana and Nirosha Dilhani insisted Nethmi to do at least one sport and she took up volleyball and came under Head Coach of her school Tharaka Ratnaweera.
