The resounding success of events organised by this Association in the past years, has made it very popular amongst the Sri Lankan community and true to form, over 200 guests attended ‘Starry Night’, not only from NSW but from other States of Australia as well. Manu Ranga was our first concert as a class and commemorates our 10th anniversary as one of Sydney’s traditional Sri Lankan dancing schools. We were so incredibly lucky that whilst this was our first concert as such, that it was completely sold out. Manu Ranga was a result and product of over 6 months’ work of hard work, preparation and care from our students, parents, committee and most importantly our teacher Ishara. On the night we performed over 20 items as a school and were able to bring to the stage a diverse range of acts which showcased all forms and styles of dance in Sri Lanka. This charity event which was held after two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was a huge success. The event was to showcase the foundation’s recent activities and make awareness of the underprivileged sick Sri Lankan children’s situation in aftermath of the COVID-19 and challenging socioeconomic conditions. Around 250 ladies attended the event to support and celebrate the 12 years of the foundation’s service. It was a memorable event with traditional blessings, songs, ladies and teens fashion shows, a raffle draw, and dance items by Mathra and SLDAS followed by a scrumptious dinner catered by Flavour of Ceylon.
