Abeysinghe, was awarded an Honorary Degree Doctor of Literature “Sahithya Chakrawarthi” for his outstanding contribution towards the literature and culture of Sri Lanka, by the University of Kelaniya, at the 127th convocation ceremony held recently at the BMICH.
