Tourism attracts over $ 950 m in new investments despite pandemic Source:FT Over the last 15 months (March 2020-June 2021) the Government has attracted over $ 950 million in investments, dedicated to revitalising the country’s tourism sector. The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) said yesterday 64 project proposals had currently been received and 38 projects, to the value of $ 102.38 million, had received approval.  These ventures will be executed under the auspices of SLTDA. Sri Lanka Tourism launches membership drive for informal sector with support from Australia’s MDF Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), with the support from Market Development Facility (MDF), Australia’s flagship private sector development programme, has launched a membership drive to encourage informal sector tourism operators to register with SLTDA.  The membership drive was launched recently with a trilingual video series featuring Kumar Sangakkara. “Tourism is led by the SMEs and hit hard by the pandemic which accounts for over 55 percent of the tourism industry.
