ST. John’s Past Pupils Presents Valentine’s Dinner Dance 17th February – By Trevine Rodrigo in Melbourne. After a considerable period of time Melbourne welcomes one of Sri Lanka’s leading dance bands Mirage, led by terrific vocalist Donald Pieries. The line-up has the added attraction this time of Manilal Perera, formerly of his own band Upekka, who has injected that something extra that has lifted the band’s profile to another level attracting offers from many countries overseas. They are currently touring the Seychelles Islands and are reported to be drawing rave reviews. The return to Australia is a case in point to their growing popularity and band leader Donald Pieries was confident they will rock the Australian scene once again.
