SUNDAY CHOICE – Give them all to Jesus – By Charles Schokman Years ago a man name Phil Johnson wrote a song that literally took much of Christianity by storm. It was entitled, ”Give them all to Jesus.” Here are the lyrics: Are you tired of chasing pretty rainbows? Are you tired of spinning round and round? Wrap up all the shattered dreams of your life and at the feet of Jesus lay them down. He never promised you’d always see sunshine. He never promised there’d be no more rain. He only promised a heart from of singing about the very things that once brought pain. Give them all, give them all, give them all to Jesus; Shattered dreams, wounded hearts, and broken toys. Give them all, give them all, give them all to Jesus; And He will turn your sorrow into Joy. With this lyric, Phil is calling us ...

An Inspirational Message for the Month of December 2023 – By Charles Schokman Christmas Image Source : Menyekanaburundi Facebook It was in the night that the Shepard saw the most amazing thing. It was seen first by a few, those who kept watch, but then they awoke the others from their slumber. It made them wonder why the night sky was like this, why a new star, why the heavens shimmered, why the earth glowed, eclipsed the normal constellations. As they gathered around the fires, the heavens were a blaze and burned with brilliance-their wonder turned to fear, for they sensed the magnitude of the night, for the world they knew would never be the same. It seems that we so often meet the divine with fear. Do we fear what we must leave behind, or fear more where we must go? We fear the unfamiliar and find safety in the ...

SUNDAY CHOICE – Be Thou My Guide & Vision – By Charles Schokman Life this side of heaven provides a head-spinning range of options, and our Creator grants us the freedom to choose. We know right from wrong because God writes His commandments on our hearts. We are free to obey, or not, but once we choose, the consequences are not under our control. We cannot use our human abilities to know God’s ways, but the Holy Spirit works faith in our heart to seek God’s wisdom and His promise of salvation to us. Our heavenly Father does not abandon us to our damning choices. Rather, He offers the gift of His Word to create faith in our Saviour, reveal Himself, and show us how to live. God wants us to choose, out of love for Him, to trust His guidance in His Word and to believe it.   Be ...

SUNDAY CHOICE – JESUS NEVER FAILS – By Charles Schokman God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Numbers 23:19).   What comfort, confidence, and blessed assurance to know that you can trust God with your life! You can depend on Him to take care of you and guide you into your destiny; the destiny of His working! He’s trustworthy, faithful and reliable! He never fails. When you trust in the Lord you shall not be confounded (1 Peter 2:6). That means you’ll never be disgraced or “put to the blush,” for trusting God. The Scripture is replete with testimonies of those who, in defiance of life-threatening circumstances, demonstrated absolute trust and confidence in God and experienced a miracle. The ...

Dancing with the Lover of their Soul  – by Charles Schokman   “You turned my mourning into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing Your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise You forever.” – Psalm 30:11–12 The Masaka Kids Africana are a wonderfully gifted group of dancers from Masaka, Uganda. The group exists because of an organisation that does unbelievable work for orphans in Uganda. There are over a million orphaned children in Uganda which is why it is so important that organizations like this exist. Their living conditions are  much to be desired but what keeps them going is the song in their hearts (Never Quit) and their dancing feet. Hope this makes your day brighter.   ...

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO LOOK BACK – by Charles Schokman Sometimes you’ve got to look back to see how far you’ve come. To count your blessings. To put it all in perspective and be grateful for all the highs and lows in your life. To embrace every aspect of your past as a lesson, that has shaped you into the stronger and wiser person you are today. Sometimes you have to look back at all the people that have been a part of your life. To see them all as teachers and mirrors, reflecting your light or your darkness; bringing out your inner beauty or the things you need to work on. Be grateful for whatever role they might have played in your life. And keep in mind that your perception of them is a reflection on you. So what you think about these people says more about you than about them… Sometimes you have ...
