SRI LANKA NEWS (DECEMBER  2023) Compiled by Victor Melder Sri Lanka’s inflation, as measured by the change in the Colombo Consumers’ Price Index (CCPI) marginally increased to 3.4 percent in November 2023 from 1.5 percent in October, the Department of Census and Statistics reported Thursday. The CCPI for all items for the month of November 2023 increased to 193.4 from 191.4 in October 2023. The Year on Year inflation of Food Group increased to -3.6 percent in November 2023 from -5.2 in October 2023 and the Year on Year inflation of Non Food Group increased to 6.8 percent in November 2023 from 4.9 percent in the previous month. For the month of November 2023, on year‐to‐year basis, contribution to inflation by food commodities was -1.20 percent and the contribution of Non Food items was 4.56 percent.
