EDELWEISS – by Desmond (Kelly from Colombo)      Everyone who knows anything about music, knows the the above “song” from Oscar Hammerstein’s beautiful film, “The Sound of Music”. Everyone should also know that “Edelweiss” is actually a little white mountain flower that grows mainly on the rocky ridges of mountains at, and around the apex of these tors. So “Edelweiss” can be categorised  simply as a tiny “wild mountain flower”.      I have had this “idea” of my own version of another beautiful film from way back, entitled “Romeo & Juliet” the BEST version of which, in my opinion, was the 1936 version, Starring the very beautiful Norma Shearer as Juliet & Leslie Howard as Romeo.      My “Romeo & Juliet” (in case anyone who reads the “texts”  of eLanka is interested) will have to be an “Alpine-version” of this beautiful, but touching story.
