Antonians of a younger generation may have only heard of Gordon Cooray by name. Citing my own example – I joined St. Anthony’s College in January 1951 and Gordon left college in 1953 or 1954. I only made Gordon’s acquaintance when I came to Australia 6 months short of forty years in this country. But it was forty years in which I found that Gordon by virtue of whom he was, made the world a better place for me and many others. Memorial Mass for Gordon Cooray – Sunday 14th April 2024 – By Chris Drieberg Date : Sunday 14th April 2024 Holy Mass at 11.00 a.m.  Venue : Resurrection Church,  402 Corrigan Rd., Keysborough Followed by Fellowship and Lunch at Upalis Restaurant, 264-248 Blackburn Road, Glen Waverley commencing at 12.30pm. Lunch Cost $ 30.00 per person BYO Wines only. Spirits and soft drinks could be purchased at the Bar. The lunch and fellowship is also to honour members of the first committee. GORDON COORAY NO MORE – By the Australian Antonians Source :  Australian Antonians It is with much sadness we notify the demise of our friend and old-Antonian, GORDON COORAY, who passed away peacefully yesterday. He was 88. Gordon was an active member of the Old Antonian Social Club (Australia) from its inception in 1981. He had the distinction of serving in different roles during his time in the committee. He was the President for two years (1984 and 1996), Secretary in 1995 and Treasurer in 1999. In recognition of his services to the Club, Gordon received the Service Award in 2016. As the photos below suggest, he was a regular at our social gatherings until recently.
