RIOTS IN LEEDS, U.K – A WARNING SIGNAL THAT EUROPE AND CANADA SHOULD NOT IGNORE – By N.S.Venkataraman In what appears to be an unprecedented situation in Europe  during  the last several years, mob violence and riots have now taken place in Leeds, UK, with violent mob burning buses and damaging public property.  What is particularly shocking is that these riots have taken place on a flimsy issue and it was organised  at very short notice  by the rioters . It is reported by the U K police that the riots were organised by those belonging to  some Islamic groups. At the same time, another riot has taken place in UK , when Bangladesh muslims organised violent demonstration in support of the ongoing agitation in Bangladesh.  The deep underlying reasons  for such disturbing incidents need to be carefully understood and steps have to be taken by  the governments in Europe ...

Stray thoughts of a man at age 78 plus – By N.S.Venkataraman Sometimes, I  feel unhappy about my parents  for giving birth to me  and  bringing me  into this world , which has  needlessly exposed me to the vagaries of the world.   The world   would  have lost nothing by myself not being born. In any case,  this  has happened without my consent !!!   Was I born   solely for my parents to meet their needs ? Of course, the parents  proudly introduced me to the world with sense of pride, satisfaction and achievement  with  everyone around  congratulating  my  parents and applauding the efforts. At this time, I must have been lying in the cradle unaware  of anything  going around and not aware about the feast that everyone would enjoy in my name My parents enabled me  to grow reasonably well , to the extent that they could do so ,  based ...

HUMANOID ROBOTS TO TURN THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN – By N.S.Venkataraman Humanoid robots   are now being rapidly developed by several research institutions around the world. It is reported that there are more than 22 humanoid  robots in the world right now, some of which  are in the  prototype development stage . Researchers in several countries including USA, Japan, China , Israel, Iran , Singapore  are actively involved in research and development  work, causing high expectation . Several funding agencies are too joining the fray by extending financial support to the humanoid robots  projects , thus reserving their place to exploit  the business  potentials in the coming decades. Certainly, humanoid robots will,  sooner or later  and perhaps sooner than later , make   big impact on the life style of human beings, work culture, value systems and   productivity in various spheres of life.   It is widely believed that   in the coming years, ...

Limits of Thought on Life Process-by N.S.Venkataraman Image Source:Slguardian Source:Slguardian Everything happens in my life without my consent. I was born without my consent, though perhaps with the consent of my parents. I would pass away one day against my consent. The limbs and other parts of my body grow without my consent and steadily decline over the years without my consent. All is happening, with myself remaining simply as an observer. The time that I spend in my life seems to be only a time-passing exercise, in total ignorance of my origin and end. Even if I may not be very keen to know from where I came into the world, certainly I am very keen to know where I would go after my passing away. Perhaps, if I know the destination, there would be greater clarity of thought for me, and there could be some sort of comfort ...
