PREMIER NAMES 2023 MULTICULTURAL CHAMPIONS The selflessness, care and passion of 16 individuals and community organisations have been recognised at the Premier’s annual Harmony Dinner in Sydney last night. Of those recognised, 12 received a Premier’s Multicultural Community Medal and one Highly Commended award, while three new members were added to the Honour Roll. NSW GOVERNMENT INJECTS A FURTHER $1.4 MILLION INTO COMMUNITY-LED PROJECTS More than 65 organisations have received funding from the NSW Government to facilitate projects and initiatives to drive greater unity and harmony in diverse communities.  Minister for Multiculturalism Mark Coure said each of the 69 groups had received a share of $1.4 million in funding through the NSW Government’s Stronger Together Projects grants program.  “Due to an overwhelming amount of interest and more organisations wanting to run programs in their communities, we increased the original funding allocation of $400,000 to $1.4 million,” Mr Coure said.  ...

ALFRESCO RESTART REBATE CLAIMS OPEN FOR BUSINESS NSW small and medium hospitality operators can now claim the State Government’s $5,000 Alfresco Restart rebate, enabling them to create or expand their outdoor dining offerings. MORE YOUNG PEOPLE EMPOWERED TO STAND AGAINST HATE The NSW Government’s flagship program helping empower young people to fight racism and hate has nearly doubled in size, with ten new partnership projects joining the initiative. Each of the new partnership projects have been awarded a share in $1.6 million through the Community Partnership Action (COMPACT) program, to run projects specifically designed to help young people combat hate, racism, and divisive attitudes. REDUCING SOCIAL ISOLATION GRANTS NOW OPEN Local councils and not-for-profit organisations can now apply for funding to facilitate programs aimed at helping reduce social isolation among seniors. Minister for Seniors Mark Coure said a total of $600,000 is available through the Reducing Social Isolation for Seniors Grants Program to support initiatives, which play an important role in keeping seniors connected to their local community. “No one likes to be alone or feel disconnected from their community, especially not our seniors,” Mr Coure said.  “This funding is about helping foster environments where people can come together, meet new people and enjoy themselves in their local community. ...
