Erasmus was the on-field umpire for the first semifinal between Pakistan and New Zealand at the Sydney Cricket Ground while Dharmasena had been the on-field umpire for the second semifinal between India and England at Adelaide Oval. The ICC issued a statement hours after the Police department announced that they are dropping an ongoing investigations due to lack of evidence.
