Marais Erasmus, Kumar Dharmasena named on-field umpires for England-Pakistan final Image Source : zeenews.india Source : dailymirror The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Friday that Marais Erasmus and umpirewill be the on-field umpires for the Men’s T20 World Cup final between England and Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday. Erasmus was the on-field umpire for the first semifinal between Pakistan and New Zealand at the Sydney Cricket Ground while Dharmasena had been the on-field umpire for the second semifinal between India and England at Adelaide Oval. SRI LANKA CRICKET NEWS (JULY 2020) – Compiled by Victor Melder Former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has come in for criticism from all corners after the International Cricket Council denied claims that he had lodged a complaint with the game’s governing body in 2011 that the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 was fixed. The ICC issued a statement hours after the Police department announced that they are dropping an ongoing investigations due to lack of evidence. Aluthgamage, who has a history of shooting from the hip, had claimed that he had evidence to prove that the closely contested 2011 final between India and Sri Lanka was fixed.
