This year, the ‘month’ is between 13 April and 12 May. As every year, fasting involves abstaining from food and drink from dawn to dusk, and focusing on improving our relationship with Allah (God) through fasting, worship and charity. Fasting is a test of mental and physical will and teaches us compassion and to care for the less privileged. Fasting reminds us of the oneness and omnipresence of God and is a special task between Him and us. Ramadan is also a time of extra prayers, worship and charity.
