Drs Yasodhara & Vimukthi Kumaratunga in Britain Source:Thuppahis DATA secured from Internet Sources by The EDITOR, THUPPAHI News Item presented by Walter Jayawardena The wedding of London educated daughter Yasodhara of Sri Lanka’s former President Chandrika Kumaratunga and a Consultant medical practitioner Roger Walker was announced in London’s Daily Telegraph newspaper in a paid advertisement about three weeks ago. Following the British tradition of calling Consultant level medical practitioners as Mister the Telegraph advertisement called the groom as Mr.R.H.M. Walker and the just passed out young doctor bride as Dr.M.Y.S. Kumaratunga. According to the Daily Telegraph advertisement which appeared June 16 2007 the marriage took place at Fawsley Hall in London between Mr. R.M.H. Walker and Dr. M.Y.S. Kumaratunga. SRILANKAN AIRLINES – IS IT A PARADISE? – By Dr. Tilak S. Ferando For the last few years, the SriLankan airline has been making a loss continuously. It is the consensus of everyone that the airline is overstaffed, particularly top-heavy, with millions of rupees to the senior management staff as salaries. Therefore, the only option would be to privatise the airline. During President Chandrika Kumaratunga’s rulership, one of the international airline multinational conglomerates, with its separate travel company, showed an interest in taking over SriLankan airways. Virgin Conglomerate’s Chairman, Mr Richard Branson, had discussions with President Kumaratunga. He had to return to the UK disappointed, only having placed Sri Lankan ginger beer for virgin flights.
