THE MELBOURNE OBSC CHRISTMAS PARTY(26/11/2023) Source : SPC OBSC Melbourne: Newsletter – Summer 2023-2024 Our last function for 2023 provided a great afternoon out for our 250+ guests at the Lincoln of Toorak who provided an outstanding buffet with all the Christmas trimmings. The venue looked great with a fantastic backdrop to take those family Christmas photos …in fact, you had to queue up at one stage to get on. It was heartwarming to see the 40 or so kids enjoying the day, especially when Santa made an appearance. And the afternoon rocked on to the groove of Clarence Rey and DJ Pio. We wish all Peterites and their families and friends (not forgetting our sponsors throughout the year without whom we could not do what we do)a new year that sees all your resolutions come true. We hope to see our guests during 2024 at our functions. ...

SCATS NSW OVER TWO DECADES HAS BEEN IN ACTIVE EXISTENCE SCATS NSW OVER TWO DECADES HAS BEEN IN ACTIVE EXISTENCE WITH GENUINE SOCIAL WORK SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY Celebrated as in previous years the valued Christmas Party get together as usual was well patronized held on the 16th December at the Beecroft Community centre The occasion was highlighted by many events deviating from previous Christmas celebrations. The highlight was the participation of renowned vocalist Sohan Weerasinghe who duetted with our own Bony Fernando to mesmerize the audience ably assisted by the Redemtion band . The Children of ‘Muthuhara’ Children’s Society Sydney portrayed an absorbing play coordinated by Niluki Gunaratne which was splendidly choreographed by Peoly Gunaratne. To startle and amaze the children, Santa Claus was in attendance with all his glory. The Baptist church choir delighted those present with soothing singing. Whispering Hope’s Christmas Fundraiser Drive Story by: Marie Pietersz, Melbourne Philanthropic organisation Whispering Hope (Australia) Inc is once again asking for support to help boost its deflated coffers after some much needed equipment was purchased for its beneficiary, the Badulla Hospital in Sri Lanka, and funds are required to continue to provide the hospital’s medical and surgical needs. President Philomena Mather is hoping that its Christmas Party on 25 November will be fully subscribed. If unable to attend, taking out an advertisement in the function souvenir or making a donation are other ways to support this worthy cause.
