Good News From Jayam April 1, 2024 Pls Scroll Down 35 items Tourist Arrivals Top Half-a-Million Mark In a remarkable feat for Sri Lanka’s tourism sector, arrivals surpassed the half-a-million sparking optimism about meeting the ambitious target of 2.3 million visitors by the end of the year. “Sri Lanka could achieve the set target for 2024 or more, whilst earning over $4 billion by year-end,” Tourism Minister Harin Fernando, recalling that in 2023 the country surpassed the 500,000 mark only in May and in 2022 in September. The SLAASC’s Christmas Wonderland and Carols on December 9th, was a big hit with hundreds of Sri Lankans who came to North Hollywood, Ca. Guest of Honor was Lal Perera and his wife Praxid. Los Angeles Consul General Dr. Lalith Chandradasa was there. SLAASC President Niroshan Kahawatte and his Committee went out of their way to decorate the venue with thousands of lights and Christmas trees. They even had fake snow which fell on the guests.
