Most of the guests wore colorful traditional Sri Lankan attire. According to some of the guests. “This was the most enjoyable aluth avurudha they have been to.” Sajee and Janesh did a great job in compering and announcing the games.

A beautiful sunny, California day. Everybody had fun while they celebrated mother Lanka and its New Year!

Former President of SLAASC Palitha Pelpola, his wife Ardni who was Vice President and a Committee Member of the SLAASC, daughter Nadyenka and grand children. Palitha, along with Past Presidents, Jayam Rutnam and Past President Keshini Wijegooneratna, helped put together an amended SLAASC Constitution in 2009, which is in effect today.

Nihal Chandra de Lanerolle – Son of late Dr. Leslie and late May, brother of late Rosemary Wijeyewardene, Ralph and late Santi, brother-in-law of late Ajit, Heather and Shiranthi, uncle of Trishan, expired in USA on 25th March 2026. His mortal remains were laid to rest on April 18th 2026 at the General Cemetery, Kanatte. Email: ralph@sltnet.lk

Remains lie at A.F. Raymod’s Funeral (Parlour 1) from 24th April at 10.00 a.m. onwards. Funeral service on 25th April at 3.30 p.m., followed by the cortege leaving at 4.30 p.m. for burial at Borella Cemetery (Anglican Section).
