“BORN TO BE BLUE” – By Des Kelly I first heard of them after coming to Australia, to become a Citizen and settle here, in Ozi-Land. I reckon that it was either during the late 1960’s or early 1970’s. I did fancy their name, having been one, myself, during my younger days in Ceylon. Then, suddenly, a young lady I knew came  to me, with this cassette-tape by the Mavericks, and after listening to their bright style of music, I became one of their fans overnight and started collecting their recordings to add to my huge collection of Country music, simply because I felt that they were primarily a Country-Rock Band, and a very good one, at that.
