“BORN TO BE BLUE” – by Des Kelly

“BORN TO BE BLUE” – By Des Kelly

I first heard of them after coming to Australia, to become a Citizen and settle here, in Ozi-Land. I reckon that it was either during the late 1960’s or early 1970’s. I did fancy their name, having been one, myself, during my younger days in Ceylon. Then, suddenly, a young lady I knew came  to me, with this cassette-tape by the Mavericks, and after listening to their bright style of music, I became one of their fans overnight and started collecting their recordings to add to my huge collection of Country music, simply because I felt that they were primarily a Country-Rock Band, and a very good one, at that.

I would like the readers/members of e’Lanka to know that I do pick only the very best music for them to enjoy while they scroll through the many different reading material

(Articles), etcetera that e’Lanka provides them with, week in & out.

Born to be blue, is somewhat different to the numbers normally done by the Mavericks, but still a great song for you to enjoy.

As a ‘bonus’ because Christmas is around the corner, I have added another Mavericks song entitled

‘Amsterdam Moon’, and have even thought of contacting Raul Malo to inquire as to whether he could now do another version of this superb song, bring in the lyrics ‘Sri Lankan’, instead of ‘Amsterdam’, because the ‘cadence’ is correct, and the same Moon shines over Sri Lanka, as it does, over Amsterdam.

I sincerely hope all our readers enjoy both songs done especially for you.

‘Cadence’ is correct, and the same Moon shines over Sri Lanka, that does over Amsterdam.
