The essay was published in Comparative Studies in Society and History in 1985. The pdf version has been converted into Word File by my Aloysian schoolmate KK De Silva, a cricketer and soccer goalkeeper in his school-heyday. Because it is a pdf, I have not been able to assemble the Footnotes as “End Notes.” ...

Turning the tables on Royal, Hartley College took home the Trophy in a well played tournament. Rugby – RCOBA supported the 77th Bradby Shield live stream event and party organised by Trinity College Old Boys NSW on 22 July. Alas whilst leading 10:0 at lemons, Royal College missed the mark during the second half to trail 10:13 to the Trinitians at the final whistle. Lets keep our fingers crossed for a repeat of 1979. One of the world’s most spectacular train rides costs less than $10-by Julia D’Orazio Source:Theage I’m fine with a little discomfort. Sitting shoulder to shoulder, a slight awkwardness here and there. Even the subtle wafts of a fellow passenger’s body odour don’t deter my mood as I’m preoccupied with other things. Hardly staring into the abyss, I’m transfixed with Sri Lanka’s countryside slowly passing me. The island nation boasts one of the world’s most scenic train journeys.
