Sri Lanka need to qualify for a berth in Group 1, to enter Super 12 – T20 WC – by Sunil Thenabadu in Brisbane    The T20 WC is scheduled between 17th October and 14th November in UAE and Oman will be the seventh edition of ICC WC T 20 which began in year 2007.Sri Lanka had won in year 2014 and twice in 2009 and 2012 been the runners up. Shiromi of “Kondanamagena” fame, 50 years celebrity in Canada by Sunil Thenabadu  The child singing prodigy Shiromi Fernando, born in year 1960  ‘Baby Shiromi” celebrity domiciled in Canada is planning to commemorate her golden milestone in singing since coming to fame in year 1971 with her ‘kondenamagena’ song recorded for the Sooriya label. The lyrics and music compositions of this song and three other songs ‘Amma Pembara Amma’,’Sakala Bujan”,and Handa Haami’ recorded together in a disc under famous Soorya label which were sold then, as hot cakes at the Children’s book shop. Most Venerable Agga Maha Panditha Rajakeeya Weligama Gnanarathana Maha Nayaka Thera: Equipped with bliss of serenity.  By Sunil Thenabadu The Mahanayake of the Amarapura Nikaya, Dharmarakshita Sector, Chief Incumbent of Ratmalana Mallikaramaya temple Agga Maha Panditha Rajakeeya Welgama Gnanarathana Thera passed away in the year 2014 at the age of 101 years. The appointment of the Most Venerable Agga Panditha Rajakeeya Weligama Gnanaratana Thera as the Mahanayake Thera of the Dharmarakshita chapter of the Amarapura Maha Nikaya was unanimously announced by the Executive Sangha Committee of the Amarapura Maha Nikaya on September 12, 2003, a position vacated with the demise of the Most Venerable Agga Maha Panditha Madihe Pannasiha Mahanayake Thera.
