Obituary: Amitha Abeynaike To. THE STC DSA ERA GROUP, It is with great sadness that we note the passing away of Amitha Abeynaike after a brief illness. At college he was a School Prefect and captain of the Hockey team. After leaving school he was fully involved in sports activities at college. I can’t think of any other Thomian who had done such a workload for the development of Hockey and its players. As you know, his father, our beloved teacher, later Sub Warden, Mr Orville Abeynaike was the Cricket and Hockey coach for several years during which period he produced some remarkably outstanding Cricketers and Hockey players.
