Obituary Notice – Rohan Abeysundera Please be informed of the passing away of Rohan Abeysundera in Canberra.   Rohan was a proud product St Peters College, Colombo. Rohan was a former rugby captain in 1964. Later, he excelled as a cricketer and athlete to become an outstanding sportsman. Rohan continued his sporting journey beyond school, as he represented Sri Lanka Rugby, Upcountry and Dickoya (DMCC). Although he settled down in Kandy, Rohan made it a point to visit college regularly to witness rugby & cricket matches. He was a member of the pre 70’s group, and fondly called “Gentle Giant”. Vale’ Cheryl All of us, at e’Lanka, sadly bid farewell to Cheryl Menezies, beloved  wife of Roger, who has passed away in Sydney very recently. Both Cheryl and Roger were stalwarts of the old “Peterite Clan” & she will be badly missed, especially by those from Roger’s Alma Mater.  Our sincere condolences to Roger,  all her family & friends, and may she now rest in eternal peace, in the arms of God, her Maker.    Desmond Kelly (Editor-in-Chief) e’Lanka. Obituary – C. Vijitha Fernando It is with deep sadness that we inform our members of the passing away of C. Vijitha Fernando. Vijitha Fernando is best remembered as an energetic OBA secretary from 1997 to 1999. He took over as Secretary of the OBA at a time when the OBA was going through a very difficult period. Through the sheer force of his will, he managed to bring everyone together for the common cause of working for the College. As Hony. Secretary he implemented many projects for the OBA and the College. He set up the first OBA Secretariat in 1997 in an office located in the Lower School area and appointed the late Mr. Asiri Weerasinghe as Administrative Secretary. Obituary: Amitha Abeynaike To. THE STC DSA ERA GROUP, It is with great sadness that we note the passing away of Amitha Abeynaike after a brief illness. At college he was a School Prefect and captain of the Hockey team. After leaving school he was fully involved in sports activities at college. I can’t think of any other Thomian who had done such a workload for the development of Hockey and its players. As you know, his father, our beloved teacher, later Sub Warden, Mr Orville Abeynaike was the Cricket and Hockey coach for several years during which period he produced some remarkably outstanding Cricketers and Hockey players.
