Obituary: Trevor Rajaratnam – BY TREVINE RODRIGO IN MELBOURNE. It is with profound grief I was informed of the sudden passing of Trevor Rajaratnam who was an outstanding Cricketer at Colts Cricket Club in Sri Lanka. He was a key member of a formidable Colts club as a clever and facinating spinner, playing alongside some greats of the club such as Roy Dias, Duleep Mendis the recently deceased Gary de Silva, Bernard Rulach, Kumar Ramanathan and some others during my reporting career in Sri Lanka. After an illustrious cricketing career, he made inroads into Travel and related tourism projects in Sri Lanka that contributed hugely to the country’s economy. NEVER TRUST A CRICKETER – By Desmond Kelly. The title tells the story. Written by the wife of a Cricketer, who prefers to be anonymous (for obvious reasons), this poetic justice (or injustice depending on how you look at it), was kindly sent to me by Chris Lawton OMI who doesn’t play cricket anymore, but still has a wry sense of humour about the game, forwhich we thank him. As everyone knew, this guy was a top Cricketer, we were all very proud to have him at St.Peter’s College, by far, the best College in Colombo, at the time, as well. Clive was in the same ‘form’ & I was proud & privileged to keep his company & boast about his superb prowess on the field,to all & sundry. Then, sadly, we parted company due to mass-migration of the Burghers to various Countries in the World, thereby also losing touch with close friends, in the process.  I would like to say “thank you” to both Michael Tissera & Joe Paiva for informing e’Lanka of this sad news, condole with the family, other ...
