To Heidi, with love – by Des Kelly She is known as “The Scandinavian Queen Of Country”. This song has been recorded & released by at least half a dozen different “Stars” of Country Music, yet this, in my opinion, is the BEST version. Heidi Hauge has her own unique accent which comes through, as she sings, BUT, if you listen to this version of a great song, you WILL want to hear it again & yet again. This is why it is ” A KELLY-KLASSIC”. Please listen to Heidi with love. More Kelly Klassics to follow. Desmond Kelly. (Editor-in-Chief) e’ Lanka.  ...

“FAITH CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS” A phrase that does REACH up into the highest mountains, and this is why there is so much truth in the saying. As I have said and written time and time again, I was born and baptised a Roman Catholic, bred and educated, the same, did NOT live by some of it’s strict rules however, in not  attending Church regularly etcetera, but still believe implicitly in the fact that “GOD IS”. This “Post”, via Alan Benson & Keith Bennett might well be a repeat, yet well worth another, simply due to the fact that if you do wish to move a mountain from one place to another, you do need absolute faith that you could manage this, or else the mountain will remain annoyingly static. ...

“The Last Post” — Its Origins and History-by Michael Roberts   Source:Thuppahis The Last Post will be played all over the world on Remembrance Day. But as Alwyn W Turner explains, its origins had nothing to do with mourning. Arthur Lane was a bugler in the British Army when he was captured by Japanese forces during the fall of Singapore in 1942. He spent the remainder of World War Two in PoW camps and working on the notorious Burma Railway. But he also had a more melancholy duty. He still had his bugle with him and it was his task to sound the Last Post for each of his comrades who died during those years.   ...

Noel News The only common denominator of happy people…is gratitude. DAVID MELTZER Welcome to our May newsletter. It’s only a few days to the election and right now the outcome is looking uncertain, but obviously with a swing to Labor. Everybody I know is sick of all the promises, and the continual staged media appearances. I’m also stunned by all the promises being thrown around. The reality is just so different.   Labor has promised to put a nurse full-time in every age care home, but nurses are in short supply now. Where will they come from and what will that do the cost of nursing home fees? The Coalition has promised so much I’ve lost track of it, while Labor and the Greens are promising to build thousands of affordable homes. This begs the question as how they will find the land, the tradespeople, and the materials. That won’t change on Sunday morning. ...

Data-centric and model-centric machine learning – By Aditya Abeysinghe   Different approaches are used in machine learning to build AI (Artificial Intelligence) models. Two common methods used are the model-centric method and the data-centric method. The model-centric method focuses on improving the model and the data-centric method focuses on improving the data used for building the model. Both methods have benefits and drawbacks and both can be used in any model. Model-centric approach In the model-centric approach, the data used for the model is not changed. The model is changed to increase the accuracy and the performance. Different methods to improve the model are used like increasing the training cycles until overfitting, changing values of inputs in each training cycle etc. Most machine learning models are built using this method to improve the model as it is often easy to change the model when compared to changing data. Data-centric approach ...

With Anthony Albanese at the helm, Labor is projected to win 2022 federal election By political correspondent Brett Worthington Source:-https://www.abc.net.au/ Anthony Albanese will return Labor from the political wilderness to government, seizing power from the Coalition after it has been almost a decade in office. Key points: It remains unclear if Labor will govern in majority or with the support of the crossbench The Liberal Party has suffered major losses to “teal” independents in once-safe Liberal seats Treasurer Josh Frydenberg looks likely to lose, as do Labor frontbenchers Kristina Keneally and Terri Butler While it remains unclear if Labor can form a majority, the ALP is on track to finish ahead of the Coalition and more likely to reach a minority government, the ABC has projected. “The Coalition cannot get into government,” ABC election analyst Antony Green said. This win means Mr Albanese will replace Scott Morrison as Prime Minister, making him ...

SUNDAY CHOICE – How lucky (Blessed) I must be This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.—Psalm 118:24 Let us give thanks to God for all His Blessings and say How Blessed I must be. The Lyrics Everywhere I Look today make me stop and make me say Thank you Lord for giving me the chance that I might see Pretty flowers all around butterfly that makes no sound That’s when I stop and tell myself How Lucky (Blessed) I Must Be Land and Roses around the door I could ask for nothing more A home that’s filled with laughter and with love The warm sunshine upon my face Sweet memories time can’t erase No wonder that I tell myself How lucky (Blessed) I must be Strolling on a summer’s night The one you love right by your side Sharing all your hopes and all your dreams In ...
