Safety; Accidents; & You – By Noor Rahim As intellectual human beings, please pause awhile, and think back to the last time you gave thought to the simple but most important facet of life – SAFETY. Yet, we have the habit of taking things for granted – Don’t we? The word” Safety” has many meanings in the dictionary. But in the context of human beings it would simply mean “SELF SURVIVAL”. In other words it would mean the “will” of an individual to lead a “normal” and “accident free” life. 73rd Anniversary of The Air Force. – By Noor Rahim 73 years ago did we see the seed of the Air Force being planted And a few die-hards enthusiastically joined the pioneering band To care & nurture the seed to sprout out of the ground With back-breaking effort of sweat & toil, with pride laboured They did nurture the seed with tender care & pride, as it bloomed 73 years have now very fruitfully passed, with expectations surpassed For the Nation to see an excellent tree in bloom, matured & recognized With the Nation fully confidence at the services & protection provided A great future for the new founded that replaced the old And much pride for the old-stagers who gave of their devoted best Alas! Not many may remain to see what their dedicated works achieved Forget them not, as they were the back-bone of what’s accomplished ...

76th Independance Day Celebrations held in Toronto – Photos thanks to Noor Rahim 76th Independance Day Celebrations held in Toronto; and elaborately and meticulously arranged and produced by H.E Mr. Thushara Rodrigo, Consul General, his staff and the many Volunteers & Sponsors that made it a wonderful and colourful event. They are very worthy of praise without doubt. All kudos & thanks to them. Of course, the participants deserve much credit/praise for their very wonderful performances which kept the audience spell bound – A very big thank you. It’s that time of the Year – Once again.- By Noor Rahim Onset of the Festive Season. The flowers are all but gone and the trees have shed all their leaves. How one misses the various types of Birds, Bees and Butterflies that foraged for food in the previous days. Only the few bushy-tailed squirrels that scamper hither and thither on the grounds; picking up the nuts and every morsel of food they can gather for their hibernation; are currently visible. The daylight hours keep getting shorter by the day; and along comes the drop in temperature too. The ardent connoisseur of a “White Christmas” will no doubt await the snows; that they pray will complete their Christmas. “As the Days Fade Away…..” – By Noor Rahim As the days fade away; one can only look around for what lies ahead and speculate – be it good or bad. Whatever it be one must keep in mind the age old saying of “Man Proposes; and God Disposes”. Presently the “sitting outside” on the verandah and watching the “World go around” is all but gone and restricted as such; confining one to being indoors within the walls of the home. However, we of the extreme North have to contend with the God given four seasons and savour the good and the bad as we humanly can – for each season has its characteristics and metamorphoses; and it is for us to contend with, enjoy and make best of it all.
