PARLIMENT “WELL-HUNG”

He stood there on his final “platform”, a thick rope around his neck, his final words, “such is life” & Ned Kelly hurtled down to finality . He could well have been a “relation” but this does not matter anymore. Had the “Old Melbourne Gaol Authorities” got it wrong,as far as his weight was concerned, had he somehow managed to escape on his way to the gallows, had the excecutioner erred as far as HIS job was concerned, “If this, if that, (IF stands stiff in a corner), Ned Kelly would NOT have “carked it” as they say, in that particular way. on that particular day, The law states that “execution” is a “one-way” street. One can only be executed ONCE. If that execution fails, “tough titties”, but Ned Kelly, Australian bushranger, was “well-hung” and I mean that literally, of course.

My cousin, (possibly) 3 times removed, (I think) was executed by “hanging” at the Old Melbourne gaol, ever so long ago and, as a “tribute” after arriving in Melbourne in 1962, I decided to write a song about him. Here are the lyrics

Now, to get back to what I mean’t to write about in the first place, AS NED KELLY WAS, OUR NEW 2016 PARLIMENT IN AUSTRALIA WILL BE “WELL-HUNG” LITERALLY. After an eight-week “LONG Campaign”, millions of taxpayer dollars spent, thousands of words spoken & printed, dozens of speeches& smiles hundreds of Towns visited, all over the Country, DUAL “SLOGANS” uttered interminably, quoting JOBS & GROWTH & MEDI-CARE. Right now, Australians do not know whether they are Arthur, Martha or McArthur. The “incumbant Government” is well hung, drawn and quartered as well. “All dressed-up with nowhere to go.

I have watched my television with interest, over the last few weeks and never mind ALL the Social-media Comedy associated with this election, I find the whole lot, a TOTAL COMEDY OF ERRORS. The “Governmental-Gurus” (no names or pack-drill) , all stating their own “points of view” & sadly, ALL WRONG!.Liberal-backers & the Prime Minister STILL claim that they have won and will form the next “full-Government” by mandate. The Labour-backers & the Leader of the Opposition are claiming victory & even now are getting ready to occupy enough “seats” to form a”complete-Labour Government” but HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?. I am no bloody “guru” but have known all along that the people of Australia have finally got sick & tired of both Liberal and Labour. To many promises made and too few, kept. Now, there are only the “postal-votes” to be counted and our WELL-HUNG Parliment will have to get back into their seats to RUN THE COUNTRY.

Why, for crying out loud, cannot all these intelligent men & women get together, now “HANG-ABOUT” together to decide what is best for EVERYONE, Australian? . This time, they are going to have many more “INDEPENDANT REFEREES as well, together with the bi- partisan “Speaker of the House”.To the “Independants”, I say,BE INDEPENDANT in every way, NO DEALS AT ALL,should be struck. We taxpayers pay your salary.Remember, YOU SENATORS REPRESENT US. Governments come and Governments go, but you can go on till you are old and grey if you do your job the CORRECT WAY. What had to happen is happening right now. The percentage of “Independants” is surely rising and it is going to be EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to form a totally Liberal or Labour Government in future, and I really don’t give a damn about what the “Gurus” say. They might be in a “minority” but, in future; the “Greens” , the “Nationsls” & the “Independants”should stand up for their “principles” and, by not “giving in”, create a new and better Australia for every “Aussie”.

THIS IS A BRAND NEW COUNTRY.in “white-man’s terms still not even 230 years old. It certainly is a “great Country” and has grown rapidly until now. Suddenly, it has come to a shuddering STOP!.Prime-Ministers of late, being chopped & changed more often than a baby’s nappy, the rich getting richer & the poor getting poorer, “laws” that favour the “guilty” & crack down on the innocent, absolute “rubbish” is being let into this Country while persons who could well be “assets” are being given the “run-around “Farmers” who are the lifeblood of this great Land, struggling to make ends meet, the Australian Defence Forces having to fight other.peoples’ battles, then come back to have to fight their own battles with P.T.S.D., paedophiles & other “scum” roaming around when they should be locked up, gangs of very young hoodlums being allowed to do as they like, the elderly, pensioners, etc., having to live under the “poverty line” while the richest of the rich keep getting wealthier with “Government crutches” to keep them “limping”to”the big banks with smiles on their faces, I could go on forever and a day

BUT IT’S TIME TO HAVE MY SAY.

NO, LET OUR NEXT PARLIMENT BE “WELL-HUNG”
WITH EITHER A LIBERAL OR LABOUR P.MINISTER.
LET THE MINORITY “TEAM” OF INDEPENDANTS
“KEEP ALL THE BASTARDS REALLY HONEST”,
TO USE A TRULY “COMMONSENSE” ATTITUDE,
TAKE “EACH POLICY” LIBERAL OR LABOUR,
ADD EACH “INDEPENDANT” VIEW ON THE MATTER,
GET A “MAJORITY VOTE” ON EACH SUBJECT
THAT IS GOING TO BENEFIT ALL AUSTRALIANS.
WORK ONLY ON WHAT PARLIMENTARIANS ARE
SUPPOSED TO WORK ON, INSTEAD OF ALL THE
“IDLE CHATTER” FOR HOURS ON END, WHICH IS
GETTING AUSTRALIA NOWHERE AT THE MOMENT..
PARLIMENTARIANS WORK FOR THE PEOPLE.
SHOW US THAT YOU ARE GETTING YOUR
HANDSOME SALARIES FOR WORTHWHILE REASONS.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO NEED FOR ANOTHER
LONG DRAWN-OUT ELECTION..
IT WILL ALSO END-UP EXACTLY THE SAME.
THE PEOPLE ARE NOW “WISING-UP” ON YOU.
