98.8% increase in migrant workers’ foreign remittance

According to a Twitter post published by the Minister of Labour and Foreign employment, Manusha Nanayakkara, Sri Lankan foreign remittance has seen a significant increase compared to last year.

Manusha Nanayakkara twitter message states that, “Sri Lankan migrant workers’ foreign remittances increased to US$ 407.4 million in February 2023 from US$ 204.9 million in February 2022. This is a 98.8% (US$ 202.5 million) increase compared to the inflows recorded in February 2022.”
