POKEMON GO,& CHANGES, GALORE

“TO THE “NAME” OF THIS NEW STUPID “GAME”
FOOLISH PEOPLE CHOOSE TO PLAY
BEFORE YOU MAIM OR KILL SOMEONE
I HAVE “ONE” WORD TO SAY
YOU’RE JUST AN “APP”THAT SOME SILLY “SAP”
WILL REALIZE ONE DAY
I’LL SAY IT NOW, VERY POLITELY:-

PLEASE! ,

“POKEMON GO-AWAY”.

I might be wrong, but, for goodness sake, tell me now, never mind about the pre-teenagers, WHY are these so-called SENSIBLE adults wasting time, that can be put to much better use, without “chasing” mythical little Pokemon INSENSIBILITIES & so help me!!, risking their lives & the lives of others as well, going-after the little “go-fers” for the want of a better word. Very, very recently, a young “adult”, chasing pokemon-GO while DRIVING his bloody car, actually WENT into an outside fence and then DROVE into a home (he did’nt even stop to ring the door-bell),almost killing himself (and others), who luckily, were not there. He was then taken to hospital with his “pokemon” in place but I think that his car was a write-off. Mad? , no. Crazy? , yes.

There are “games apps” by the dozen that can be played safely by those who pretend to be “adults”, yet, for some unknown reason, someone, like our Chinese friend from a few years ago “appears” on our modern television screens to do, what I would call, another stupid “dance”& this dance? !! starts another “virus”.

The young ones do not actually know what a “virus” means, but the “term” that is commonly known nowadays is “going viral”which, obviously emanates from someone doing some utterly silly dance-steps that would have Fred.Astaire or Gene Kelly turning in their graves, someone, whose name totally eludes me but who was certainly no dancer, standing there, arms & legs flailing uncontrollably, mouthing what really sounded like “gunga-ho” or something like that. Now, whether there was a “ho” or not, I do not know, but, to me, the only “gunga” was the “Mahavali-Gunga” in Sri Lanka.

To “carry-on” with “changes galore”, firstly, as I mentioned our “modern television screens” (in the last para), let me just add what I am sure my eLanka readers would have noticed by now, unless you are all short-sighted and have’nt had your cataracts “done” yet, all our “female” TV. “Stars”, and/or News-readers seem to now have their hair styled differently, very often, before appearing on-camera. Now, as I always say, ” a change is as good as a holiday” BUT, while these ladies are all very pretty, these professional hair-style changes,CHANGES their “good-looks” quite considerably, and sadly, more often, to their utter detriment. A woman’s “crowning glory” should never be tampered with. Her hair-style should SUIT her face & looks,so, all you television hair-dressers, leave the girls alone . Female hair ( and even “wigs”, as Dolly Parton would tell you,) must be flowing, look natural and NOT “rigid” as though two cans of “hair-spray” have been used when just a “squirt” would have done, just as nicely.

A former Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd has recently ” put in his application” to be Secretary General of the United Nations. Unfortunately, our newly appointed Prime Minister, who is just getting over a head-cold in Canberra, for reasons unknown to us, mere mortals, told Kevin on the telephone. ” No, I’m thorry but U thant”. Mr.Rudd could’nt understand why, I could’nt understand why & neither could the present Secretary General (not sure what his full name is), but, at least, everyone should know that Kevin Rudd did have all the credentials needed for the job & what’s more, I think that it is high time an eminent, popular AUSTRALIAN should at least be allowed to send in his “resume” and apply for the job.

I am now very proud to be “involved-with” the re-launch of the “Sooriya” Website in Lanka, in addition to the “Lanka Times” Newspaper in Melbourne and, perhaps, most importantly, with the “Electronic” Lanka Website or “eLanka” which was originated by another proud Sri Lankan in Sydney, Australia, a new good friend of mine, Neil Jayasekera. It is a great “set-up” as far as this “great-grandfather” is concerned. “Sooriya” has been a long-standing musical Establishment in Lanka that “sold” the very FIRST copy of my original Dreamworld recording, while it was still known as the “Childrens’ Bookshop” (1958/59) ,went on to “record” many of the “top” singing Stars of Lanka on the newly formed “Sooriya” lable but, unfortinately after I had left for Australia, and is, right now, relaunching that great name, owned by the Wicramasooriya Family.

I then, was very fortunate to be chosen as the Editor of the Lanka Times, more than a decade ago, owned by another fine Gentleman, ex-Lankan teacher and also a champion Cyclist during the good old days, Michael Fernandez, whose “baby” in Melbourne was this little Newspaper that is getting more popular as time goes by. FIinally, to end my “Changes Galore”, my best 80th birthday present was being able to join Neil Jayasekera with HIS “baby”, eLanka, produced in Sydney with tha very apt title of ” eLANKA (FOR LANKANS DOWN-UNDER) Together, we will always try our very best to give not only Lankans Down-Under, but Lankans & EVERYBODY around the World, all the information possible on everything happening on this Planet of ours, not only “on-line” but then if you prefer, actually “holding a Newspaper like Lanka Times in your hands” All you good Lankans out there have to do is Contact Us :- “THE LANKA TIMES IN MELBOURNE” (info@lankatimes.com.au) “eLANKA” (newsletter@elanka.com.au)

ADVERTISE WITH EITHER. WE ARE SIMPLY THE BEST
THE REASON BEING, WE’VE PASSED EVERY TEST
ON THE “OCEANS OF LIFE” WE’RE SURFING THE CREST
WE’RE BETTER, MY FRIENDS THAN ALL OF THE REST.
