Vision Care celebrates World Sight Day 2023 by encouraging workplace eye health with special eye testing package

Vision Care celebrates World

12th October 2023, Colombo: Vision Care, Sri Lanka’s largest vision and eyewear solutions provider, is marking World Sight Day 2023 under the global theme ‘Love your eyes at work,’ by offering a discounted eye testing package to raise awareness about the significance of protecting vision at work.

Under this year’s theme, World Sight Day 2023 aims to increase awareness about the significance of preserving vision in the workplace by highlighting the need for individuals to prioritize their eye health while at work. Research shows that poor vision can lead to accidents and decrease productivity, impacting both safety and performance in the workplace. As per the World Health Organization (WHO), an estimated 1 billion people worldwide suffer from preventable visual impairments, which can have significant and long-lasting impacts on everyday activities and employment opportunities. By prioritizing eye health, individuals can mitigate risks, improve productivity, and unlock their full potential.

To encourage proactive eye care, Vision Care has introduced a special eye testing package exclusively for World Sight Day. The package includes five comprehensive eye examinations: Refraction, Air Puff, Visual Field, Topography, and Fundoscopy. These tests are vital for early detection of potential vision impairments and can help individuals better manage their eye health. This special eye testing package will be available at select Vision Care branches Islandwide throughout the month of October.

Expressing his views, Harsha Maduranga – General Manager of Vision Care stated, “We often take our eyesight for granted and overlook the importance of regular eye checkups. While medical checkups for other conditions are commonly prioritized, eye health tends to be neglected. Vision Care is committed to changing this mindset and encouraging individuals to take charge of their eye health. Our special eye testing package for World Sight Day offers comprehensive eye exams by experienced professionals using state-of-the-art equipment. This initiative aligns with our mission to provide accessible and high-quality eye care and eyewear solutions to the people of Sri Lanka.”

Vision Care urges the public to prioritize regular eye checkups from childhood through adulthood, emphasizing that many visual impairments can be effectively managed if identified early. By getting the necessary testing done through eye care professionals, individuals can take proactive steps to protect their vision and ensure a better quality of life

As Sri Lanka’s leading eye care provider, Vision Care offers comprehensive eye care solutions for customers to get their vision tested. Vision Care’s professional optometrists use only state-of-the-art equipment to test and correct any diagnosed impairment so that customers can return home to enjoy an enhanced quality of life. The company has been at the forefront of the technological revolution in eye care in Sri Lanka for over three decades by providing high-quality Eye Testing, Spectacles, Sunglasses, Contact lenses in world renowned brands and ocular pharmaceuticals.
