ALL WE IMAGINE AS LIGHT

The first Indian film to appear in the Cannes Competition in 30 years – All We Imagine As Light follows two women in Mumbai who are thwarted in their quests for love but retain hope. An observational, dream-like film from up-and-coming Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia.

Set in the marginalised village of Tora, on India’s border with Myanmar, life before and after electricity in today’s India is vividly captured in Flickering Lights, winner of Amsterdam’s International Documentary Film Festival. Filmmakers Anirbar Dutta and Anupama Srinivasan will also be presenting another documentary (Nocturnes) at the Festival.

In the high forests of the Eastern Himalayas, a scientist uncovers the secrets of moth life – moths whose flutters echo the history of our changing planet, in this Sundance-selected, immersive documentary. Nocturnes deftly capture this magical, meditative environment, leaving you mesmerised and awake to all the little things in our natural world.

PARADISE

A holidaying couple is caught up in Sri Lanka’s 2022 descent into economic, political and social chaos. Winner of the prestigious Kim Jiseok Award at Busan 2023, Paradise is a gripping examination of human relationships in a time of crisis, as danger escalates and dark truths come to light.

RAPTURE

In this visually striking drama, a village in India’s northeast descends into paranoia when a child goes missing and the local churchman prophesies an apocalypse. A singular film from India, Rapture reveals an extraordinary talent in Sangma.
