By far, it is well agreed that USA is one of the most admired countries in the world due to its robust economy, strong military power , innovation capability and above all, the freedom of speech and personal liberty enjoyed by citizens in USA. In view of this , many people from across the world , particularly from developing countries , have shown interest in visiting U S for higher studies or jobs and amongst these migrants , most of them have aspired to get citizenship in US. Due to its large land size and density of population being as low as 38 per square kilometre , US has been receptive to the migrants entering US. What is particularly noteworthy is that most of the migrants to US have been able to integrate themselves with the national mainstream fairly comfortably , without facing any serious ethnic issues. So far so good.
However, there is also an other side with regard to the image of US , which has been gaining ground strongly , particularly during the recent several months.
After the end of World War II, with US emerging as a strong economic and military power , sort of superiority complex has impacted the leadership of US governments. US governments seem to have developed a wishful view that God has created USA to police the world ! With such outlook, US wants to keep its dominating power over the world at any cost . As a result, it has been interfering in the affairs of several countries in one way or the other, trying to influence the course of events in such countries in its favour. It can be readily seen that in every conflict and war that have taken place in the world in the last few decades, US has played a direct or indirect role.
While its role in the war in Korea, Vietnam , Afghanistan ,Iraq are very well known ,perhaps there are only a very few countries in the world, where USA has not sought to exert its influence by military power or other means, even to ensure regime change.
While such interfering approach of US has not missed the attention of the world, the people around the world have been watching the US moves silently , though with some concern.
However, the recent forced acquisition of Venezeula by USA , going to the extent of arresting the President and his wife and airlifting them to USA certainly shocked the world. Further, USA’s claim that Canada should be 51st state of USA, Greenland must be part of USA and warning issued to Cuba that it could be targeted by USA has certainly created some sort of frustration about the approach of USA, with many people suspecting that USA has become an arrogant country, thinking that it can do whatever it wants with least care for the world opinion.
In the name of Making America Great Again ( MAGA ) policy, USA appear to think that the interest of USA should be the only matter of prime importance to USA and it has adopted policies that disrupt the world order decisively . The decision of USA not to honour the regulations of World Trade Organisation ( WTO) and imposing tariff on imports from several countries to USA has particularly made the world including the hitherto admirers of USA , to take a relook at the recent behavior pattern of US government.
The ongoing war launched by USA against Iran , with no justifiable reason , seem to have brought down the image of USA in the eyes of the world to a significant extent. The justification offered by USA to attack Iran and kill the Iranian leaders and officials and constantly praising itself for damaging the infrastructure and other installations in Iran, have now created a sense of anger about USA’s behavior. People around the world seem to think that a way must be found soon to discipline USA , so that it will stop its warlord like attitude.
In attacking Iran by US using its military base in middle east countries and elsewhere , middle east countries such as UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Behrain face the brunt of the war, as Iran is attacking them , particularly since US has been using its military base in these countries to attack Iran.
In the wake of this Iran USA war, the energy supplies for the entire world have been seriously disrupted and the world trade channel has been blocked and economy of several countries in the world face serious crisis.
In the past, USA has participated in several conflicts and war in the world but it has not disrupted the economy and trade all over the world to the extent that USA has done now. World is aghast to hear the US President praising himself for attacking Iran and preaching to the world that other countries should not mind the disruption in the energy supplies, as it is required to defeat Iran.
All said and done, USA appear to be losing the world’s goodwill due to its aggressive actions , with least consideration for the problems of other countries.
One is not sure whether US citizens are aware of such developing sentiment against USA, as the war is not taking place in USA but elsewhere and citizens of USA live safely.
Nevertheless, it is going to take very long time for USA and its citizens to erase the adverse world opinion that has now developed against USA.
