Premier declares we don’t need to be a monoculture
The Premier of NSW, The Hon. Chris Minns MP, told the annual
Children’s Festival crowd in Padstow, Sydney on Sunday that he didn’t think we needed to be a monoculture.
“I don’t think it would be good for Australia – as long as you love
Australia, you are loyal to Australia with respect for the cultural
traditions.
“We come from different places around the world and yet we are the
best country on earth.
“It is wonderful to see the kids with so much respect for their own cultural
traditions.
“This festival is a wonderful example of the unique culture we have here
in the Bankstown area but also how wonderful Australia is”, he said.
The festival, founded by Mr. Thuat V. Nguyen AM, has delivered 43
events across Sydney over the last 27 years.

The President of the Festival, Tuan M. Dang, told the crowd: “Today we
celebrate more than music, dance and performance. We celebrate
friendship, respect, diversity and harmony”.
“Children and families from many different cultural backgrounds come
together today to share, learn from one another and celebrate what
makes our community so special”. And “Most importantly this festival is
for our children. Their smiles, happiness and friendships remind us why
we continue this wonderful tradition”.
“Let us celebrate together, make new friendships and create beautiful
memories for our children”, he said.
The Federal Assistant Minister for Citizenship Customs and
Multicultural Affairs, The Hon. Julian Hill MP, told the gathering:
“Festivals like this spark joy, inspire young people to learn about different
cultures and create lasting connections across generations and
communities. They help ensure children feel a sense of belonging and
pride in who they are.
