NOT WHO, BUT WHY ? – by Des Kelly
Thank you, Keith Bennett for these perplexing ponderings.We should know the answers to the questions, but if the Author of this “post” is 85 years old, he/she has nothing to worry about, because I am now 86 and still do not know any of the answers either. Let’s just say that whoever is responsible for the ponderings now ponders no more, and leave it at that. Makes for interesting reading however, so here’s hoping that one of the brilliant book-worms of e’Lanka might be able to give us an answer or two, in order to enlighten us. I also take this chance to ask our e’Lanka readers to please COMMENT on what they find interesting on the BEST website for all Lankans & OTHEES around this World of ours. I promise, every comment will be scrutinized and adequate action taken in order to satisfy the Commentator. If the comments are good, as they should be, thats fine. If they are bad, we just chuck them into the dustbin, simply because we have no reason to believe them. “Such is life”, as Ned Kelly’s final words were, “We live and learn”, says his 2nd cousin, twice removed.

I am 85 years old and I have so many unanswered questions!!!!
I still haven’t found out who let the Dogs Out…how to get to Sesame
Street… why Dora doesn’t just use Google Maps…….. why eggs are
packaged in a flimsy paper carton, but batteries are secured in
plastic that’s tough as nails, yet light bulbs are in a flimsy carton
too … Ever buy scissors? You need scissors to cut into the packaging
of scissors… why is “abbreviated” such a long word; or why is there
a D in ‘fridge’ but not in refrigerator… why lemon juice is made
with artificial flavor yet dish-washing liquid is made with real
lemons… why they sterilize the needle for lethal injections… and,
why do you have to “put your two pennies worth in” but it’s only a
“penny for your thoughts” where’s that extra penny going to… why
does The Alphabet Song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star have the same
tune… why did you just try to sing those two previous songs…and do
you really think I am this witty?? … I actually got this from a
friend, who stole it from a friend, who stole it from her brother’s
girlfriend’s, uncle’s cousin’s……..
