A HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT FOR OUR SRI LANKAN COMMUNITY IN CANADA!
For the first time, five young Canadian athletes of Sri Lankan heritage — Sanaya Perera, Austin Rankothgedara, Lakain Rathnasekara, Yevin Rathnayaka, and Santhosh Kujendran — have achieved an outstanding milestone at the 15th Pan American Wushu Championships in Argentina, bringing home an incredible 3 Gold Medals 🥇🥇🥇 and 2 Silver Medals 🥈🥈!
This is a truly proud and unforgettable moment for the Sri Lankan community living in Canada. Our young athletes have made history, demonstrated their talent on the international stage, and made both Canada and our motherland, Sri Lanka, proud.
Their coach, Sampath served as the coach of the Canadian National Wushu Team for this event, while Sanya Weerasuriya successfully completed the judging course, becoming the youngest judge in the Pan American Wushu Federation.
