Andrea Jeniffer Jones is already a celebrity been the beloved husband of celebrated renowned character actor, comedian talented vocalist Rajitha Hiran Charmika Fernando with the pseudonym Ping Pong. Andrea is a staunch Christian ,an Indian by origin born on 11th May 1986 to parents Patrick Jones native of Bombay and Pathiranelage Don Audrey Almeida of Sri Lankan origin. She has only one sibling, an elder sister Patricia Tania Jones employed as an Air Hostess in an airline in Abu Dhabi.
Andrea possesses distinctive characteristics deviating from the typical adult female possessing an emphatic emotional melting heart, an exemplary housewife ,extends unwavering support to counterparts has a robust sense of integrity. Andrea possesses perseverance in abundance with high sense of integrity exhibits tolerance expressing affection is unassuming with emormous love to all.
Andrea and sister Tania were educated at the Princess of Wales College in Moratuwa.On the insistence of the parents and their disposition had been given priority to their studies. To be more accustomed in studies from the younger days had been sent to private tuition classes too..
The process that led Andrea in meeting her future husband Rajitha reads fascinating. Andrea had confessed that she addresses Rajitha as RAITHA sans the J. From her younger day, Rajitha’s ambition had been to enter the arts arena to act been an ardent fan of Sha-Rukh-Khan. Living in the Walana Panadura Rajitha was termed as“Walane Sharukh” ,Rajitha had attended Prince of Wales College.Moratuwa boy school of Andrea’s school the Princess of Wales College. As Rajitha was somehow inclined to become a popular figure as an actor had planned to produce a dance item to the ‘turkish’ song for the college concert. The actress selected and trained had in the eleventh hour had let him down. This made Rajitha very desperate, wanted to find a girl to perform that role .Luckily when he stepped out he had met Tania, Andrea’s elder sister in the vicinity. When this frantic story was related, she had consented of course if her mother permitted. Once the concert concluded Rajitha had become close friends with Tania ,in a few days he had visited her dwelling. He had observed Andrea a thirteen year old girl with hair cut short looking a ‘tomboy’ seated on the steps. Rajitha had since been a constant visitor, who was welcomed by Andrea’s mother who had begun to love Rajitha’s jokes and behaviour particularly as she had only two girls During Rajitha’s constant visits Andrea had not joined the mother and Tania duo but had been listening to the interesting dialogues Rajitha used to narrate from her bedroom.
During this era Andrea;s family had left Sri Lanka to India when the relationship had been abandoned. However, on their return Rajitha had come to know the family had returned had continued his relationship as before. At that time, he observed that Andrea had grown her hair and looked very attractive. But for Rajitha though it was lingering in his mind about a soft corner to Andrea it was not the moment to convey or propose her for two reasons. Rajitha wanted to get himself established in the acting arena to earn some money before that and also as Andrea was still schooling..
Andrea’s mother had continued to entertain Rajitha particularly as she was devoid of sons, to Rajitha on all seven days it became an obsession to visit them. Andrea’s mother had entrusted Rajitha to give protection to her when she went for classes at Piliyandala purely on trust as there were many boys who were interested in her. One day Rajitha had gone in a jeep with some friends to frighten them recollected Andrea in a television dialog. As Andrea was weak in Sinhala literature Rajitha had taught her to become conversant in the subject. Andrea had triumphed in this subject with a credit pass at the ordinary levels.
Though his love affair was not confirmed the two families had got united been invited for birthday parties, Sinhala new year etc. One day on a 26th of December Rajitha with the connivance of Andrea’s sister Tania and cousins Saumya and Lorraine, etc had organized a birthday party for her cousin Lorraine .However this arrangement Andrea was unaware but she had gone as trip to Galle Face. Rajitha’s intention was to declare his love to Andrea at mid night. Rajitha had arranged a place at a corner of the Gall Face green on a bench to cut the cake had called Andrea to tell a ‘Baddak’.In Rajitha’s inimitable ‘Sha Rukh Khan” style had wanted to convey to Andrea that he loved her. But through exhilaration he had uttered instead of declaring to begin a love affair had said‘Api Bandimuda” recollects Andrea .Rajitha had expressed this by almost kneeling down imitating an act of Sharu kh Khan under the moonlight This day is etched in Andrea’s mind in gold as cherished day.
But this proposals was not accepted by Andrea’s mother who had told she is still young will have to stay for five years until she sits for her Advanced level she chooses her future profession. She had also added should take permission from Andrea’s father who is not in favour of a son in law who’s trade is acting. However, Rajitha continued to be closely knit with the family visiting them daily. Andrea had quipped that when her mother makes a cake, she used to keep Rajitha’s share conserved in the fridge.Andrea had recollected the first present Rajitha had given her was for her birthday a soft toy a woolly dog bought for rupees two hundred and seventy five from proceeds of the sale of the government school uniform he possessed to a tailor for rupees three hundred, she preserves this gift still.
When the father Patrick Jones returned to Sri Lanka in the year 2004, the family members had met him at the BIA. On returning there had been a large placard in the Maradana area advertised on the ongoing film then“Clean Out” where Rajitha photo too was flashed which Tania had shown to Dad Patrick Jones.But unfortunately he had not been convinced. Then at that time Andrea had received several proposals from many quarters.
After some pause and time only, father had consented. The wedding due to be held in August had been postponed owing to dire financial constraints to December 2008 at auspicious times with a poruwa ceremony .Andrea had added in a television dialog that Rajitha had cried on the wedding day embracing his mother which was the completely opposite to the usual scene where the bride who predominantly cries on the wedding day, Andrea was only twenty two years old while Rajitha was five years elder to her. The consent was given by Andrea’s father when he had asked whether she really wanted to marry Rajitha. Andrea has had no boyfriends hence she had consented as she knew well of Rajitha’s qualities and mannerism feeling a bit sorry for him too. As Andrea’s school friends were receiving love letters she had requested Rajitha to write a love letter to her to know the taste of it. When the horoscopes were tallied the two had only tallied to only fifty percent. Andrea adds that qualities of no husband-and-wife tally but the duo need to adjust accordingly to have a thriving family life.
Andrea had confessed also at a television confrontation that she had become a mother when she was only twenty three years old .When the child was expecting Rajitha and his mother had preferred a son while Andrea and her mother had preferred a daughter. When a scan was done it had revealed that a daughter was to be born, Rajitha had even requested the doctor to double check which had made the gynaecologist to ponder, The daughter was named as Amanda Riyana presently a student at the St Lawrence convent in Wellawatta.
Andrea was initially employed in a number of travel companies and private airlines then found employment at the Airport Aviation Pvt Ltd as a ground hostess where she works to date though travelling to and from Walana Panadura is tedious. It is leant reliably that Rajitha is a better cook and cooks meals in the absence of Andrea also attends to other domestic chaos including looking after the two dogs. Amanda had stated that Rajitha is not the fun loving person seen outside but a very serious character at , a bit strict too.He is used to make experimental dishes which have had to be thrown away even rejected by the dogs , when Rajitha too had realised the food was non edible. Andrea had confessed that Rajitha becomes furious when he loses his temper, but realising it Rajitha now very much less furious. He likes to consume ‘Kiribath’, rice with egg curry , pasta, macaroni etc
After eight years Andrea was blessed with their second child also a girl who was named as Ariyana Rafella an Italian name which had been explored by the duo ,also as the son of Shah Ru Khan too had a similar name .The names begin with A and R to coincide with Andrea and Rajitha Both daughters of the duo are students of St, Lawrence convent Wellawatte. The elder daughter is conversant in music competent and proficient in playing the piano , melodica ,Alto Saxophone is a member of the senior girls band in school, the younger daughter Ariyana will be soon following suit. Andrea believes this field is more appropriate to her daughters.
Andrea confess that for her, twenty four for a day is not adequate for her to attend to her daily routine work and responsibilities at work. She in addition is studious very ambitious to study and be qualified in many fields ,She had followed classes at an university, possesses a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in International Hospital Management Amidst her busy daily schedule with home chaos is presently studying to obtain a diploma in Psychology also from a reputed university. Andrea needs to be complemented for her endeavours.
Andrea had stated that to have dialogues with father for Rajitha is unviable as he is fluent only in Hindi ,been an Indian decent catholic national. But with him his wife Andrea and the two daughters speak fluently in Hindi. At home Rajitha is having an impediment as he is not fluent in the Hindi vernacular, hence forced to remain quiet at home. Father of Andrea Patrick Jones is now very happy with the son in law Rajitha had even added that to carry his coffin, there is a son. It needs to be emphasised that to Andrea’s mother had expired six years ago father is to her is now both mother and father, very attached to one another to unprecedented tall elevations. In a television dialog she confessed she is wondering how she could encounter life after his demise.
Rajitha is an ethical husband to Andrea and delightful father to the daughters who can prepare meals in Andrea’s absence while at work, supposed to perform all Andrea’s duties, like brushing the teeth, bathing, preparing meals and even looking after the two dogs. Andrea had stated that when she comes home after two days of weighty office work Rajitha allows her to rest by attending to all home chaos to precision. Rajitha it is said endeavours to make dishes by experimenting but has often fails in his attempts. The food thus prepared at times had been refused even by the dogs .It was reminisced that he had boiled ‘thambil’ water and experimented by making tea which he himself had found to be very bitter. The elder daughter Amanda Riyana had quoted that though Rajitha acts like a comedian on television dialogues at home he is serious and very strict, also does silly experiments, prepares new dishes but even the dogs refuse to consume. Once he had experimented to make a ‘buriyani’ with ‘Dambala which proved not edible. On another occasion to prepare a new menu had added ‘baking soda’ in large proportions which too had been rejected. But after consuming it Rajitha’s stomach had been propelled to make h Andrea has added that Rajitha possess distinct characteristics like consuming food very fast, drinking the cup of tea swiftly unlike Andrea. It has been added by Andrea that Rajitha when scripting something, looks to the heaven and when he consumes food, he keeps his eyes closed, a rare individual indeed. Andrea had quipped that the mannerism of the duo differ mostly,Andrea has stated that Rajitha is the person who had made her journey strong and is indebted to him. .Andrea trusts Rajitha to unprecedented tall elevations sans any suspicion .All Rajitha friends are Andrea’s friends too she has no particular friends of her ow.
The duo Andrea and Rajitha had tied the nuptial knot sixteen years ago .The family life as depicted above is a role model to be emulated by all who are thinking of matrimony.
