Antonians in Melbourne joined Rev Fr Hilarion O.S.B in celebrations of his Golden Jubilee of priesthood and thanked him for his dedicated services to the College.
The former Principal of our College served more than 25 years as a priest at St. Anthony’s, 10 years of which he served as Principal – 1994 to 2004.
In his final year, he headed the organising of our 150 years celebrations.
Fr. Hilarion celebrated a thanksgiving Mass on the occasion of his 50th Anniversary of Priesthood on 10th December, Sunday at St. Michael’s Church, Berwick at 10.30am. In his homily, he prayed and thanked God and all those who were connected to his ministry. His wish was that he may live as long as he lived for the glory of God.
After mass, the Parish hosted him to a sumptuous morning tea. The Antonians were also involved. President, Askok Ariyaratnam spoke on behalf of the Old Antonian Social Club thanking him for his services to College and presented him with a token gift from the Club, after which we sang the College Anthem.
As a matter of interest, the O.A.S.C. in Melbourne have had the privilege of hosting two other Principals on their special milestones as Priests. Fr. D. I. Robinson O.S.B. for his 50 years as a priest and Fr. Stephen Abraham O.S.B. for his 25 years as a priest.
