I’m really excited. Yeah, I’ve never actually got to play an international match at home before so Hopefully I’ll get the nod for that game in particular and yeah, it’s going to be an amazing spec tool We know how amazing Opta Stadium is when we fill it out for the furnace So hopefully we get a huge crowd when we play the West Indies.

For sure Yeah, for sure. Any time you get to play cricket for Australia in a World Cup year is a great opportunity to put your name up. So yeah, I’m really happy that I’m involved in the squad for one, but then hopefully I can continue to play some good cricket and really put my name up there for that squad as well. I certainly don’t expect to be picked, hopefully my performances are good enough that I’m definitely in that conversation, that’s all I can really ask for, I’m having a great time and really enjoying my cricket at the moment so hopefully that just continues in that fashion.

Yeah, it certainly does and for me it’s more confidence around I guess the last two years in particular I’ve had a decent run at just playing cricket and staying on the park so I’ve been able to develop my game and really sort of Just get that consistency which everyone strives for and I’ve had a decent crack at it Which I’ve been really excited about over the last few years I’d love to play all three yeah you never you never want to miss a game for Australia in particular but yeah we’ve got I think four quicks in the squad so there’s probably gonna be a bit of rotation within that so a high likelihood of maybe playing two I guess so hopefully yeah minimum two that’ll be great.

Yeah, a lot of confidence and again going back to the consistency piece I played four out of five games over there with short turnarounds So that was really a big confidence booster for me in terms of like getting on the park day after day And then also the fact that yeah, the ball was coming out quite nice and I was able to execute my skills That was that was the biggest thing for me was that the plans that I had and we had as a team I was able to to execute what I wanted to and yeah the results went reasonably well from a personal point of view as a team we unfortunately lost that series but it was a great learning opportunity for me and getting to bowl in different phases of the innings as well in an international match was something that really excites me and hopefully I can keep doing going forward. Yeah basically around that they’re really impressed with with I guess the development over the last 12 to 18 months being able to bowl Upfront in the middle and give an option at the back end has been really important So that’s something I’ve worked really hard on and something that

I’m really proud of that I can now give that option to the captain and the team that I can bowl anywhere in that sort of 20 overs at 33 you’ve got quite a few years left to offer both the national side and Thurston WI as well?
Yeah I certainly do and that was the the thing back with those injuries from sort of 24 to 29 I played maybe six months out of every 12 so it’s a case of yeah we talk a bit about bowling age sometimes and I certainly had a few years there where I didn’t play much cricket so I hopefully I can really tack that onto the back end of my career and play as much as I possibly can into my late 30s yeah.

Yeah it’s funny you mention that because someone mentioned to me yesterday post 30 recovery looks a bit different and you know we talk about post 30 in cricket terms being sort of starting to get a bit more senior and I’ve certainly realized that I’ve always been quite diligent with what I do. In regards to recovery and things like that but now it’s a real case of doing as much as I possibly can in terms of ice bar stretching, the recovery boots, all that sort of stuff just those little one percent things make a big difference now that’s for sure.

But when there’s potentially hosting on the line, how much more in time? Yeah it’s a huge thing so we’ve got to win and I think a few results go our way in Tassie to make sure that we can host that final so yeah unfortunately I might be touching go to play in that one with the international commitments but it’s a case of yeah making sure that we put our best foot forward unfortunately didn’t go our way out here against New South Wales, didn’t execute the way we know we can and we’d like to, so yeah, a bit more pressure, but guys thrive under that as well.

Well, we’re going to be out of time for sure. Yeah, I think the finals are a very different scenario, everyone knows that it’s cutthroat at the back end of the season and it’s something that we’ve had a lot of experience over the last few years.
in finals, so we’d hope that that will hold us in good stead knowing that when the pressure comes on that we can really handle that and make sure that we do that a bit better than the other team.

Yeah, let’s hope so. Yeah, it was a tough series back then as well during the COVID times, all those bubbles and everything we went through, but it was an amazing experience to play over there. And like you said, to get used to those sorts of wickets are a bit different. Some of them similar to what we faced in India in recent times as well. So just, I guess, drawing on all that bank of knowledge, one, knowing what I do really well, but two, also adapting to those conditions and the size of the grounds and things like that and we’re always really well prepared so that’s something that we can take in with full confidence going forward as well. Yeah and just really trying to stay one step ahead of the game.

Ideally you can do that with your field settings or your change of delivery and things like that so always trying to keep the better guessing and try and put something in the bowler’s favor. Yeah, it’s another exciting thing. I get to go back to Mumbai. They looked after me really well in the past and I’ve had a really enjoyable time there and hopefully we can get it back up towards the top of the table.

We finished, I think, third last year. So that was really good and we had some great team performances and then it’s an exciting period with Hardik Pandia coming back. He’s a much -loved son. at Mumbai and it’s going to be a great feel around that group again I’m sure.

Perfect. Cheers guys. Thank you. No worries.
