Nanda Pethiyagoda has long been interested in the complexities and nuances of love between men and women. Her desire to capture and retell stories of love from a woman’s perspective – how love originated, evolved and diminished, culminates in this volume.
This is a collection of true stories of women whose expectations of love did not materialise. However, these are not stories of loss or despair. The women in these stories continued to grow; they are strong, capable, independent and become successful in many ways despite eternal romantic love eluding them.
Nanda Pthiyagoda Wanasundera has been a freelance journalist for nearly four decades, usually writing pseudonymously. She was teacher for 20 years, after which she obtained her BA (Hons) degree in English Lit, economics and western classical culture. She obtained UK library Association qualifications and moved to a career in information science.
