  • Live Match Screenings program:

As The Socceroos prepare to kick off for the FIFA World Cup in North America, football fans will be able to catch the action live and local at Broadmeadows this June.

Beginning Sunday 14 June when Australia begin their World Cup campaign against Türkiye. There will be four full days of live action at Broadmeadows Town Hall Carpark throughout the month.

More than just a sporting event, the precinct will transform into an entertainment hub featuring World Cup action live on big screens, live music, food trucks, family-friendly movies, come-and-try football activities, a rock-climbing wall, and kids colouring activities to create a vibrant Festival of Football for all ages.

Delivered as part of Project Broadmeadows, the free community event will bring locals and visitors together. Pop-up stalls and on-site activations will showcase the future opportunities of the suburb as thriving, inclusive and connected.

Project Broadmeadows is proudly funded by the Australian Government through the Urban Precincts and Partnerships Program. The Football of Festival is delivered by Hume City Council on behalf of the Project Broadmeadows partnership.

Thank you to our project partners Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung, Kangan Institute, Vicinity Group, Banksia Gardens Community Services, DPV Health, Northern Community Legal Service, Spectrum, and the Victorian Government.

Quotes attributable to Hume City Mayor, Cr Carly Moore:

“Hume is proud multicultural city, and the world game reflects that diversity. Screening one of the world’s biggest tournaments is a powerful way to bring our communities together to celebrate, connect and share in the excitement right in the heart of our city.”

“Council is proud to deliver this event in partnership with Project Broadmeadows, creating an opportunity for our community to come together while showcasing the future of Broadmeadows as a thriving, evolving centre for our community.”
