CAHM at SLIIT Expands Global Training Opportunities Through Partnership with CÉ LA VI Singapore
The Colombo Academy of Hospitality Management (CAHM) at SLIIT is Sri Lanka’s premier private institute dedicated to education in Hospitality, Commercial Cookery, Patisserie, Tourism and Events. Through its partnership with William Angliss Institute (RTO 3045), Australia, CAHM has established a benchmark for world-class hospitality education by combining international expertise with practical training relevant to both local and global industries.
The academy goes beyond conventional classroom learning by providing students with hands-on experience in state-of-the-art kitchens, training restaurants and simulated hospitality environments. This immersive approach ensures that graduates are career-ready and equipped with the professional skills demanded by the international hospitality industry.
CÉ LA VI Singapore, located at the iconic Marina Bay Sands, is a renowned rooftop dining and lifestyle destination featuring a rooftop restaurant, sky bar and club lounge. Inspired by the vibrant diversity of Southeast Asia, CÉ LA VI combines modern Asian flavors with dynamic spaces to create memorable dining and nightlife experiences.
Known for its iconic rooftop locations, energetic atmosphere and elevated guest experiences, CÉ LA VI has established an international presence across major destinations, including Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo, Dubai and London, with further global expansion underway.
Strengthening CAHM’s commitment to international industry exposure, its partnership with CÉ LA VI Singapore provides selected students with the opportunity to undertake a three-month international internship. The programme offers students valuable hands-on industry experience, exposure to international hospitality standards, cultural exchange and the opportunity to work in a multicultural professional environment.
Students following Hospitality Management, Commercial Cookery and Patisserie programs are considered for the internships through an interview and selection process.
Since 2025, CAHM has successfully sent five batches of students to CÉ LA VI Singapore.
The internship allows students to apply their academic knowledge and practical training within a fast-paced international hospitality environment. Participants gain first-hand exposure to global service standards, professional kitchen operations, premium guest experiences and multicultural workplace practices, while learning to adapt and collaborate across cultures.
In addition to strengthening their technical abilities, students develop essential professional and personal qualities such as confidence, independence, adaptability, teamwork, communication and professional discipline. Students also receive an internship allowance during the programme, providing an additional supporting benefit alongside the wider international learning and career development experience.
