Chaminda & Kath Samaraweera (KATCHA) – Sent by Joe Paiva (Adelaide)

Chaminda & Kath Samaraweera ( KATCHA), an outstanding role model for the youth of today, in any endeavour in life.

Whether music, academics, business, high school studies , hospitality industry,  trade or whatever.

A success narrative born out of passion, discipline and sheer hard work.

Elanka applaudes your success and God speed

Joe Paiva

Intelligence alone is no guarantee of success in any endeavour.

Hereunder is a fore taste of their  perseverance to get to the summit of music.

And just like that it’s 2023

And just like that it’s 2023

When Kat & I started our journey together in this industry no one was willing to give us a chance, or an opportunity.

I mean no one.

We had to walk into venue after venue handing our self made cds that we’ve made of our versions of demos so that we had some sort of promo to show the venue.

Most of them probably threw our promo material away. Others said they would listen and give us a call. No one did, so we kept going hard, until we had that first breakthrough, that first opportunity, that first paid gig together that was going to put food on the table……

After many years we fell into becoming live music agents because, we knew the struggle for some acts out there, and wanted to help and guide them in the right way so that they could get some work behind them. It’s been an incredible year booking acts of all different genres, different ethnic backgrounds, different cultures and more.

But we have one thing in common, and that’s wanting to play our hearts out no matter where we go or who we represent. We are musicians first.

We just wanted to take the time and say a big thank you to Metropolis Entertainment Metropolis Entertainment for having our backs and for allowing us to do what we do best. None of this would have happened without you. For your belief in us as artists, and for your support, guidance & care in life, it truly means a lot.

Thank you to all our acts who have worked so closely with us during this year. Thank you for being awesome and always having that hunger to play & entertain the crowds.
Thank you to your partners & families for supporting you all, as musicians we are never home on weekends and during December, well it is pretty much everyday.

Most importantly we would like to thank the “punter” yes you…. Thankyou for sitting down & having an awesome time with us all when we do our thing. Clapping after every song, cheering us on when we feel like we are lost at times and dancing your hearts out. Without you we would have no one to play for ~

Now it’s time to book some gigs and get ready for our shows this week ~

Hope to Katcha soon

Happy New Year to you all!

First gig of 2023 & just like that we are back into it

Come join us and have some fun listening to live music ~
